Privacy Policy

This policy explains what whattheywouldsay.com (the "Service") collects, why, and what happens to it. The short version: your chat exists on our systems only long enough to make your report, and then it is gone.
1. What we collect
Chat exports you upload. The WhatsApp or Instagram export file you submit. It is used only to compute your free breakdown and, if you pay, to write your report.
Generated reports and stats. The written report and the aggregate statistics (message counts, percentages, superlatives) we produce from your chat. These contain no raw message text apart from what the report itself references.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI, or bank details. We receive only the payment confirmation and order reference needed to unlock your report.
Basic technical logs. Standard server and error logs from our hosting provider, used for security and debugging.
No account, no profile. The Service does not require signup, and we do not collect your name, email, or phone number to generate a report.
2. How long we keep things
Uploaded chats: deleted immediately after your report is generated. If you upload a chat and never complete payment, the file and its session are deleted automatically within 24 hours.
Reports: kept so your private link keeps working. Email us if you want a report deleted and we will remove it.
Payment records: retained as required by Indian tax and accounting law.
Logs: retained briefly by our infrastructure providers for security and debugging, then discarded.
3. Who processes data for us
We use a small number of infrastructure providers to run the Service: Vercel (hosting and temporary file storage), Supabase (database, hosted in the Asia-Pacific region), Razorpay (payments, India), and Vercel AI Gateway (AI report generation). The AI processing runs under a zero-data-retention configuration: your chat is not used to train any model and is not stored by the AI provider.
We do not sell your data. We do not run advertising or share data with advertisers.
4. Your report link
Reports live at a private link containing a long random code. Anyone you share the link with can read that report, so share it only with people you want to see it.
5. Your responsibilities
A group chat involves other people. By uploading a chat, you confirm you have the right to share it and that you will use the report responsibly. Please be considerate of the other people in your chat.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to delete a report or any data connected to it at any time by emailing support@whattheywouldsay.com. Since we hold no account data about you, deletion requests are usually just the report itself.
7. Changes
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will say so on the Service. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
